What's new for 2023?
There was no need to make dramatic changes to the Trailblazer for 2023 so Chevy didn't make any. It did, however, add new colors including Natural Yellow Metallic, Sterling Gray Metallic and Fountain Blue as well as an available Iridiscent Pearl Tricoat roof color.
Trim levels for 2023
The Chevy Trailblazer for 2023 gives buyers in Long Beach and Santa Ana, CA a choice of four trims to choose from:
- LS
- LT
- Activ
- RS
The Chevy Trailblazer LS is the base trim and can put you in this subcompact SUV for less than $24,000. The LT model comes standard with a 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine and you can upgrade to the 1.3-liter version and add all-wheel drive. We recommend getting the Adaptive Cruise Control package with a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob along with a rear center armrest. Get the Driver Confidence package and you'll get a blind-spot monitor and a rear cross-traffic alert system.
Engines and performance
Like the Buick Encore GX, the Chevy Trailblazer gives you two different turbocharged three-cylinder engines to choose from: a 1.2-liter and a 1.3-liter. The 1.2-liter comes only with front-wheel drive and the continuously variable automatic transmission while the 1.3-liter gives you the chance to get optional all-wheel drive. The bigger engine also let you choose the smooth nine-speed automatic. The 1.3-liter version with all-wheel drive can go from zero to 60 mph in 9.4 seconds.
Fuel economy
The most fuel-efficient Chevy Trailblazer according to the EPA is the front-wheel drive version with the larger 1.3-liter three-cylinder. It can give you an estimated 29 MPG in the city and an amazing 33 MPG on the highway. Upgrade to all-wheel drive and the numbers drop to 26 MPG in the city and 30 MPG on the highway.
Interior comfort and cargo
The Chevy Trailblazer has a spacious, functional cabin that includes an abundance of convenience items in upper trims. The driver’s position is high and there’s plenty of room for two adults in the back seat. The Chevy Trailblazer for 2023 has 25.3 cubic feet of cargo space behind the back seats and 54.4 cubic feet with those seats folded down. You can fold the front passenger seat flat which allows you to haul 8-foot-long cargo items like lumber or a stepladder with the liftgate closed.
